Shweshwe Designs was founded in 2023 by two entrepreneurs who shared the same values: a passion for colours and authenticity in design, both in terms of fabric design using the unique Sweshwe Designs and individuality of each hand sewn product.

Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s, being used to hand made designs and each product being unique they felt that that “mass production” had taken over, lacking the old “hand made” sewing skills, Shweshwe was therefore born in the attempt to move back to the ”good old sewing skills” making each and every product unique, no two alike.

We only use 100% natural fabrics, proudly representing the incredible Shweshwe Designs with the unique colours and patterns and proudly only manufactured in South Africa.
